A Sunny Day

Some of you know that my friend Q is an ardent supporter of all things Facebook.  He mocks the idea that it is a social cancer or part of some adolescent urge to be popular.  So I suppose he will have to write something that supports Facebook's latest move to censor the Breast Cancer Awareness Body Painting Project for breaking its First Commandment:

"You will not post content that: is hateful. threatening, or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence."

Facebook really is the last bastion of Good America.  Look at the statement itself.  At least they've tried to promote good grammar with the proper usage of colons and semi-colons.  How many people in America know the rules about colon usage?

In other news, "Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan" opens today at the National Gallery in London.  And you won't find any nudes on their website.

Da Vinci didn't paint many nudes and those he did seem to look at the female body with one eye closed. "The idea that he could be aroused by woman at all is a bit of a surprise," reports the Jonathan Jones of The Guardian as he was "almost certainly gay."  Perhaps the Mona Lisa's smile might be best described as "simpering."  Well done.

There are other little things to report as well.  What were they?  Oh. . . Mississippians voted down the "Personhood" bill.  In Mississippi!  But they haven't tried Florida yet which has become the nations's collection ponds of religious nuts, psycho-killers, and general miscreants.  The fight is still alive.

And Ohioans repealed the anti-union amendment.  Remember, after the Florida election fraud that brought George W. Bush to presidency in the first election, it was the horrendous fraud in Ohio that brought Bush his second term.  And studies show that many (if not a majority) of miscreants who end up in Florida trickle down from Ohio.  Perhaps Florida has drained away enough of them that they have recovered some sort of equilibrium (though hillbillies have a right good reproductive record).

And in the big trade off of the day, Joe Paterno will step down as football coach and Cain will remain as presidential candidate.

Oh. . . I almost forgot.  The U.N. reports that it is probable that Iran has "the bomb."  That makes me sleep better.  I'll have more on this at another time.

But sleep I did last night.  Long and without interruption.  And I don't remember a single dream.  I don't know what I was thinking reporting them here as I am now the subject of some psychoanalyzing. But believe me, it is worse than you can imagine.  There is nothing but a bucket of snakes inside.  Best to keep them locked up.

I slept long after sunrise and haven't time for much else.  The factory with all of its pleasures awaits me on what looks to be a fine, fine day.
