I have high hopes that you have never used the phrase "bucket list." I hear people talk about their "bucket lists" and cannot suppress a sneer. The president of the factory has just checked one off the "bucket list." I don't care if you want to have an affair with a cabana boy or hire a hooker in Bangkok. It's fine. Just don't say "bucket list." Please, please, please, please, please.
My frustration is growing. I can feel it and must get it under control. That is what happens when you are a truly lazy man with too many desires. I'm just warning you now. My mood is liable to turn sour at any moment.
There is a bromide for this, I think, but I don't know if I will find it. It seems to be a common thing, common enough, anyway. I look around and think that many people must have it.
Maybe I just need to quit watching premium channel television and go back to commercial t.v. I think the premiums are raising my expectations way too much. I'm losing perspective. I need to go to some stock car races and boating events, perhaps, and start looking for all you can eat buffets.
I've definitely lost touch with "reality."
Of course, I'll have to learn to tolerate things like "bucket lists."
'lost touch with reality' And that's a bad thing????
ReplyDeleteI have found that NO TV works best for my sanity.
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you a story about my experience with the "bucket list." There were two women from "out of town" who wanted collage instruction. We went around and around to find a series of times that they were both free to come. I emailed them with a list of materials they could bring etc. Then one of them emails the other (accidentally cc-ing me) running on about how I am on her "bucket list" and how she already has a conflict. So I replied that I was just too busy to accommodate them and that was the end of that.
Obnoxious as it sounds, I could not resist looking into it:
