Anna Tomczak

I spent the last three days at a workshop with Anna Tomczak at her home in Florida.  Just spending three solid days working on a project was good enough, but Anna is herself a delight.  I learned that I am a sloppy worker, too ambitious and too hurried.  I was like this before the digital world.  It is my personality.  Here is a transfer I did from a Polaroid that had already been scanned and printed.  I will post the original later.  This is simply a report.  I haven't time for anything else just now.

  1. You last couple of posts have been real good.

Looks like you're on a roll at the moment.

  2. Thanks for saying that. As you know, it is difficult to keep going without some encouragement. You start to wonder if you are just being silly. So your comment means much.

  3. I think you should ask yourself: whom am I doing all this for? If you're doing it for yourself you shouldn't worry. But if you want attract attention it's trickier.

You're a gifted story teller/writer, no question about it. You shouldn't worry. These days, when everybody is on the net, it's difficult to be noticed. It becomes a matter of publicity. Follow the link!!

  4. I am doing it for myself, but that self is conflicted, of course. It wants many things. Borges said that the difference between modern art and all other art is criticism. We've been cursed.

  5. Criticism is very important. The trick is to pick who to listen to.
