Against the Wall
He saw me before I saw him.
"Sometimes you are up against the wall. No use crying about it. Everybody gets there. You just live through it. My advice is to stay away from people. If you want to be miserable, do it alone. Some people don't understand that. Keep it to yourself, I say. That's what I do."
"Well," I said, "we try to, anyway."
Yes. We try.

Same here - sad, nobody cares.
