I'm still here, though, putting my hand on the wall and tracing its outline.

maybe...but I still love them. They make me feel connected to the rest of the world...they help me escape from my tiny little corner of confusion and doubt...Yes, everyday would drive me crazy but I'm glad you can continue...I look forward to my daily dose of Cafe Selavy.
ReplyDeleteHello, CS.
ReplyDeleteStill here you see. Reacting in private and sometimes when compelled in public. :)
No. It isn't that they are a thing of the past --blogs --- it is exactly opposite most of the time -- they are a thing of the Now.
So ephemeral. Mostly. And seem to morph into these feeding machines for the temporary ego rather than do what the monks followers of Buddha did and do --
which is shed the illusions of "this world" and search for the higher Spiritual "I" of man. I have found your posts to sometimes really be of that essence. Especially in your writing and photos of the Boy. I've told you that though.
I understand the hunger of the cave painter to strike upon the rock -- a permanent mark. It is the other "stuff" that unbalances me -- the temporary the popular the Now.

ReplyDeleteR, I spend too much time going to blogs, but I have favorites that I count on, which is a mistake since often they fizzle out after awhile. But then something new will pop up and I am in again.
ReplyDeleteL,
I hope I have not mixed up messages and comments. Shit, this double life gets so confusing. But thank you for your generous comments about my blog. I don't think I hit some higher essence, though. I am willing to shoot for the "eternal now," that record of personal experience that is somehow trying to express itself in more universal terms. But everything pisses somebody off, and I realize how far from the "universal" I am. That is when I aspire to the heights of a carnival sideshow thinking, "there might be success there." Ho!
Silly Bill.
ReplyDeleteI'm never *pissed* off. I'm just opinionated.
And spend a large part of my time reading & critting mine and other peoples hack poems. It's a natural state for me. :)
"Make it New" is always ringing in my ears. Damn Uncle Ezra.
Carnival people are pretty real. I think that may be where I stumble with your photo work sometimes -- it doesn't always translate, again only for me, to the quest for Truth. The problem is not your work though -- cause you are making it and that is the most important thing in the wholest of the world -- actually doing it. The problem is mine.
I often miss irony. And maybe the half naked girl photos in costumes are employing irony --- and the message goes over my head.
Mostly more than anything else, it doesn't matter what the "eff" I like or don't like about your photos, right ? -- there is only one judge in the end - Time.
But you might not even give a shit about that either. And just be doing what you do cause you like it and have ----dare I say fun? I hope so. I envy people who have fun while making things.
See I hate poems, writing them, reading them after I've written them. Almost everything about them really.
I do love them though. Sigh.
I quit as a matter of fact.
Okay.
I'm off. I have to go write something -- it is NaNoMo but a small group of us are using it for NaPoMo instead and I'm a day behind.
With lottsacrazy cvillelisa love xo
