Despotic Times

Charlie Sheen gets one million hits on Twitter.  American production is up some impressive percent even though there are 7.5 million fewer workers.  And I'll tell you my pessimistic prediction:  the unions will be busted no matter that the argument makes no sense.  These are despotic times.

The star basketball player at Brigham Young University has been suspended for having sex with someone other than himself.  I think.  Unless he confessed to masturbating.

It cost $68 to fill up my Bohomobile yesterday.  It should take me about 320 miles.

I finished watching "Manhattan" last night.  Very different times.  Once while dating a girl whose age I was confused about, we watched that movie together.  She got mad at me, thought I was trying to insult her.  The ending to the movie looked different to me last night than it once did.

Sean Penn and Scarlett O'Hara.  I mean Johannson.  It should be Bill Murray.

I've been like this for days.  Anxiety-induced incoherence.  I am with The People and thus harried on many fronts.  It is a bad time to be with The People.  The Oppressors have convinced half of them that they are oppressing the other half.

And I wait.  Still no knock at the door.

I have this and the pictures and the factory work.  I lack nothing.

  1. I like this photo best of bunch so far. I wasn't big on the others -- kept looking at them though to see what SeanQ was seeing.

I like this one -- it has movement and a mystery (for me). It is the most, painterly I think.

I once worked for Woody Allen. Well, sorta. He was a Woody Allenesque guy. I was 16 and 17 and he was about 42. I kissed him once in the parking lot after work but we had spent a million erotic hours together never touching. He was married and my father caught us. He never said anything -- my father.

  2. Lisa, although I like these pictures themselves as they are, the main thing that I like about them, and find encouraging, is that he's using gear similar to what I have already or could attain. I am just learning about photography and know nothing beyond the camera. These shots employ post-processing that I could learn, and that is what I hope to do next.

I agree with you that today's picture is even better than the last couple of days. You are right about the mystery and movement, I see that also. I have never shot with a model, it is what I hope to do next. I enjoy walking around NYC and taking snapshots but it is what I've done for over a year now and I think I'm ready to develop beyond that. Because these shots are done with a digital camera and processed using software that I will soon have I am very excited to learn "how."

  4. L, Give me a story or poem about it and I will publish it here. The world is best made up of such secrets.

Q, I'm telling you that it is almost too easy.

And I like the image, too.

Nix--Yikes! A surprise. As always. . . I'm tongue-tied. Do you remember any other movies? I think I fell asleep halfway through most of them lying in the dark watching them on the laptop so safe it seemed.
