Testing. . . Testing
Working alone in the studio sometimes I want to make a picture. Why can't models just live there? I wanted to try a new technique for making a "negative" transparency with Fuji Instant Film using a different kind of bleach. The technique worked, but the results are too "clean" for me. I will have to think more on this. But here I am with the "Frankencamera," the Liberator. I talked with the maker of this Black Cat edition #13 yesterday, and there is a chance that Time magazine will be doing a story on him. You know how those things go, though. He asked me for a few images made with the camera in case they want illustrations. No doubt. I will have to busy myself some more. There is always, though, so much to do.
Here is the positive portion of the instant film. I don't know that there is enough difference to warrant the effort.
But this is all technical. Here is an image of Red I made using this technique today. It is sharper and clearer than the Polaroid, and it almost looks 3D. I haven't bothered spotting the imperfections as it is just a test. But it looks better on her than on me.

Somehow I think you look sexier than Red in these photos.

Well. . . you know it is in the mirror. I got to turn this way and that so my gut wasn't obvious and my shoulders looked right. And I only make up about ten percent of the image. Trust me. Photography is about illusion.
