Humbert Humbert

So maybe I can do both. . . post both street photos from the hip and girly pics, too.  This one was taken in Mo's on Telegraph in Berkeley.  I forgot to change the settings on the camera for indoors, so the quality is poor.  But here is old Selavy, the Creeper and Lurker.  It was so quiet that I could hear the mirror slap on my camera and was sure I would be found out and beaten by the crowd.  If there was one.

"Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins.  My sin, my soul.  Lo-lee-ta."

Actually, this looks like Q's old girlfriend.  I was always in love with her, but he bad mouthed me much and wanted to keep her for himself.  It is too bad, really.  She was a peach of a girl.  Smarter than the two of us put together.  Or more clever, anyway.

But that is not what I wanted to tell you at all, and I will surely get in trouble now.

And so on. . . Q maintains that tonight is the full moon, though it officially occurs at 5:16 a.m. on the 2nd.  Still. . . I don't want to fuck with an astrologer.

But the big news (let me scoop the old boy here) is that there is a second full moon in August--a Blue Moon.  And you know what that means.  We've been down this road before, you and I.  Musica!

Maybe I'm a little goofy tonight.  I've not eaten after the gym but for cheese and olives and wine.  It is my new California Diet.  The wine is a Rhone from France.  The cheese an aged Manchega.  But I've switched now to the dreaded whiskey.  I'll be dead by morning.  And Q keeps texting me, telling me he will post this picture of me in Yosemite if I keep acting the fool.

I hate horses.  But I promise, I'm trying to lose weight.  It is hard to do.  At my age, I mean.  Today I went to the beauty salon and my beautician tried to set me up on a blind date.  She had a picture and everything.  She says she worries about me.  Doesn't want me to be alone.  I told her I could not do such a thing, but she didn't understand.  Most people don't.  The woman in the picture was standing with two teenage daughters, though, and I thought immediately of Humbert Humbert. I almost posted a link about him, but then thought better of it.  If you don't know already, you will never understand.

There was something I wanted to say when I started this post, but I don't know what it is any longer.  Oh well. Better that way.

  1. CET is not UT, you useless fuckwit.

How dare you mention my ex-girlfriend, who only amused you because she was so in love with me.

You know... Fuck man, is there nothing at all that is sacred to you and your cursed, aged kind?

I'm assuming you're using the old Berlin standard for the obvious reason.

You are much worse than a predator, you are a quadator and a postator.

  3. Q, So you've pulled out your Dawn of the Golden Age charts again. Well, good for you, man. That and the opium pipe are what's called for in times like these. I, myself, was NOT using the Berlin Standard but the Weimar Standard, thank you very much. It is much the more wicked of the two. As far as the girl. . . well. . . we see how that worked out for you. And I fear we shall never meet her kind again.

k, I'm not sure what you are asking. 2012, I think, but you'll need to consult with Q on this. He has the more accurate charts, he tells me.
