Q tells me that my posting of "The Look of Love" will not play on the west coast. He says he tried on several computers of different makes. A message comes up saying it has been blocked. It is sad to me that I, a not for profit entity, can't brighten the lives of the tens of you with beautiful music. I'm taking it that they let the hillbilly stuff play. There is something exhilarating about a shared musical experience. Ask Q. That's what he made his living doing most of his life. I just want to do the same thing. . . in writing. I want to be a darling, secret radio station, a d.j. in writing, commercial free on demand. That is why I opened a cafe in the beginning.
Yes. That's it. I'm a d.j. in writing. Lovely.
I love to write little secret things. It is wonderful to have someone with whom you write at night when you are alone and drinking or thinking or feeling things with owls hooting and the moon shining through the window, when you are saying things for one person who responds equally and in kind. There is a craziness and intoxication then. And with luck, it sticks and makes some difference in our otherwise drab lives. It is ethereal, and it is real.
I remember with great affection the people with whom I've written on those nights. They have entered a personal mythos.
I hope my d.j.ing here is akin to that. It is close. It is personal (if anonymous). Don't worry whether it is real. It is true.
I love the look on her face.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo, even when I am no fan of that white piece of clothing.
It draws too much attention, and hides too much of the fabulous body of this woman.
Have a good day, Selavy!

The last two tracks have played fine.
ReplyDeleteN, The model isn't sure.
ReplyDeleteQ, At least there is that.
