WTF? Who would have thought? At least I was right yesterday about Trump. He's a true champ.
There will be revolution, though. I believe that. Democracy only works when you get to have your own way if you are of a certain type. I was certain that those dirty bastards would have figured out how to steal the election, but there were too many women and minorities and hippies in the end. I was prepared to tell you my voter suppression story today. Poll workers did everything they could to keep me from voting. They put me in the niggers and hippies line, and while decent people were allowed to vote with a five minute wait, we were detained for almost an hour. But it is a moot point now.
I still believe, though, that people voted against something yesterday, not for anything. Around here, rednecks are already buying up all the ammunition. Michelle Bachman retained her seat. Not much changed, really. It was a close call. I'm still prepared for the absentee ballots to somehow all be for Romney and the election to swing the other way. Something. I don't know. I just can't believe that things turned out the way they did.
But smoking still causes cancer, and high cholesterol diets are bad for your heart, and if you fall from high places, chances are you are going to get hurt. And worst of all, living too long will kill you.
I'm going to take a breath, then focus on what is around me. There have just been too many distractions. I have a lot of stuff and don't need or want much of it any more. But there are things I want to put my hands on again, little talismans that remind me of happiness and joy.
I think I'll take a trip.
"Reelection Obama could restore faith in U.S."
ReplyDeleteDutch headline.
Your blog is acting weird. I can't get the main- page.
Only today's post shows, and the month by month view via the archive.
And no update of today's post in my dashboard.
Beautiful photo, even if the outfit reminds me of heavy school-gym- trauma's.
Have a good day, Selavy!

Yes, I'm with Nadja, the blog is acting strange indeed.
ReplyDeleteRe: yesterday's comment I believe you are right about the logic. Spent two days talking to lawyers. One who was kind enough to be straight with me disclosed that 99% of zoning appeals are unsuccessful. So I guess that makes paying their going $1500 legal fee to file the paper work like pissing in the wind.
A trip sounds great! Grand Canyon?
ReplyDeleteN, I know. I think I may have to reboot. Did they let you wear outfits like that in gym class? If I come over, can you take me on a school visit?
ReplyDeleteA, That's why they say, "You can't beat City Hall." There is no logic to their decisions. It is why I HATE local government. Bubbas, one and all.
C, Hello??? Why do you say Grand Canyon? But you are right. It would be lovely this time of year and flights to Las Vegas can be inexpensive.
Yes, the girls had to wear this while the boys got to wear normal shorts and T- shirts. So unfair.
ReplyDeleteYou could see in detail whom already had breasts or not, and even if they already had pubic hair!
I hated it, with my skinny bones.
We had a lot of sleezy drooling gym teachers, and of course the boys loved it, too.
The girls had female teachers. But the boys were usually in the same sports hall...
Maybe an idea for you, gym- teacher in Belgium....!
Okay, Selavy, since I know you don't have much time, and since I love you and your blog SO much, I tried to search what your blog- problem could be.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing now that maybe it could be caused by those Trump 'images'.
Maybe you should try to remove them to see if that helps.
I'm guessing this because of these articles I found on the Blogger help forum:

I couldn't find much else about this weird problem so far, so... Good luck!
I don't think it has anything to do with being hacked.
Of course, I don't know what other symptoms you might have.
