Vanquish negative thoughts. Focus on the positive. Give up obsessions. Love simple pleasures.
I got that from an article in today's New York Times about a fifty-nine year old man who surfs every morning in Long Island after practicing his daily meditation. And then he makes a long, traffic-snarled commute to work.
It all makes sense as the sun comes up on a peaceful Sunday morning in the midst of a long vacation from the horrors of the factory. Those things are easier when you are alone. I could do all of that if not for the noise and interference of people who don't.
Or so it seems. Isn't it pretty to think so.
