Dangerous Times

Fitzgerald: "The rich are different from you and me."

Hemingway: "Yes, they have more money."

There is a constant buzz in the air now that runs through things like an electric current.  You can feel it all the time.  It is dangerous.  It can hurt you.

But old Hem was right in one sense.  Who has more empathy?  What's the difference between a corner boy and the Koch Brothers?

If you aren't one, brother, you'd better be the other because you're going to need protection.

Hemingway got it right in "To Have and Have Not":  "A man alone ain't got no bloody--chance."

These are mad and violent times, in case you haven't heard.  It will be hard to find some stillness.

I like this picture of Zorro.  Everyone will need a Zorro or a Batman or some other masked crusader.  The highest court in the land has turned against you.  There is no reliable justice now in the old sense of the word.  It is Wild West times again, power going to the highest bidder.

Or the most dangerous.

Yes, these are mad and violent times.
