Everything is Elsewhere--Morning

I didn't watch "Silicon Valley" nor "Game of Thrones."  HBO, in its wisdom, decided to give viewers a week off.  The manipulations of the corporation takes precedent over the art of what they do.  And so it goes.

But "Mad Men" was off the charts.  The last few episodes have been a return to good.  And there is a reason, I think.  I have my finger on it--a reprieve from misery.  The show has been just unrelenting misery for too long.  It is the trap that shows fall into after awhile.  But I, for one, like to see a little hope, a little victory.  Otherwise, it is too much like my own miserable life.  We little people need a bit of grandeur to succor our world-weariness.

And at the end of the episode, I went to bed to read.  I opened my email on my iPad and had this from Q, a perfect song for that.

The photo is much like the one I posted last night.  Purposeful.  Continuity.

It is Memorial Day, a day to celebrate something many of us our truly against.  It is one of the weirdest days of the year to me.  There will be a sad patriotism all about.  They will be selling poppies on street corners.  Not the ones from which you get opium, I've been told.  We shall see.
