It's So Wonderful and Clean

I'm boiling up some range-free chicken eggs.  That's a joke.  But I'll bet people would pay extra for that without thinking.  They'd just look at the label with a picture of happy chickens without following the meaning.  Range-free chickens.  I like that.

You can sell anything in America.

I shot in the studio yesterday.  It was, as they say, like deja vu all over again.  I shot with a riding instructor at an private academy, a country girl who drove a big F-250.  After the shoot, we went to brunch with my buddy.  He's a gun nut whose family has a lot of land and so he keeps horses and has dirt bikes and barns and the whole shebang.  I was able to let them do the talking.  I decided to skip the gym, so I had mimosas and decided to try the quiche.  I thought that would make a good impression on the cowgirl, mimosas and quiche.  She was a fun girl, easy to talk to and to be around, and except for her perpetual texting, she was quite O.K.  She reminded me of an ex-girlfriend who I did not get over for many years.  She had the same slight lateral lisp.  It drove me crazy in a good way.

Country couldn't come up with anything from the menu, so she asked if they could make her a fried egg and cheese sandwich.  Of course they could.  My buddy was sorry he didn't get one as well.  She asked for a second plate and some ketchup.  She liked to dip.

I swore that I would remember all the funny things that came out of the conversation, but I can't.  I need to bring a pad with me to write things down.  I never needed to before, but perhaps the mimosas had a hand in it.  I remember trying to find a definition for country yoga.  My buddy said I should start a blog called that.  She said it was bending back as you tilt the Budweiser bottle to get the last swig from it then falling backwards.  Funny, but I don't think that will do.

She was a welcomed relief from the drought I've been experiencing lately.  I don't think I did a great job with the pictures, but she is ready to come back.  I'd just as soon sit with her at dinner and listen to all those great cowgirl expressions, though.  There is something wonderfully direct about rednecks and cowboys, especially the ones with college degrees.  She reminded me of all the country music I have listened to out west while driving on abandoned highways with the accelerator pressed to the floor.  I don't know why, but country music is just terrific out west.  It always makes me want to date a girl with a pickup truck with a surfboard and a bikini and cowboy boots.  They just have a way about them.

There are better versions of this Donna the Buffalo song, but they aren't available on YouTube.  Still, the lyrics. . . .
