I am going to read for awhile. I am going to read a lot. I am going to lose myself in words and stories and I am going to read some theory and philosophy again, too. I am going to read the lives of artists. I want to lose myself in all of that. I have not been reading so much since I got the studio. You cannot imagine the amount of time I have put into that, the setting up, the shooting, the special processes, inventing things that work and don't, the editing, the arrangements, the looking for things to use in the studio, then the printing, the sorting, the sleeving, trying to find storage. I've spent money on everything from cameras to films to special lenses. I've bought printers and papers and inks and have tried to print on many surfaces which eventually caused me to spend money on large printer repairs. I've bought computers and software programs and huge external storage devices, all very costly. It has been an adventure. I've made some friends. But I work in a factory and moonlight at being "an artist," and it has left little time for other things. It is time to read again and fill the tanks.
Slow, dark season. Time to huddle. Time to reflect. Time to slow way the fuck down.
Time.
