New Roof
Four days of cloudless heat. Last night, the rains came, a blessed relief. Ili walked into the kitchen.
"There's water all over the floor," she reported.
It was running from the cabinets. The new roof's first test.
Sick.
I went to the attic to see if I could tell what was going on. The roof line there, though, is too tight, an addition that leaves no crawl space.
Back from the attic, I found the paperwork for the new roof. I texted the salesman.
He texted back this morning. I wait for someone to come to my house now.
He had the chutzpah to ask me how I was doing when I called him.
The rain will continue all week. It is about to rain again now. They better get someone here soon.
Or what?
